Graduation Ceremony for Cohorts 2018 & 2019: International Professional Bachelor of International Trade

(February 28, 2023) – Ho Chi Minh City Open University solemnly held the Graduation Ceremony for Cohorts 2018 & 2019 of the International Professional Bachelor of International Trade program, a joint collaboration between Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMCOU) and Rouen Normandie University, France.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of the University’s Board of Directors, leaders of various Faculties and Departments, representatives of functional offices, along with parents and all new graduates.

Opening Remarks and Congratulations from the President

In his opening speech, Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha, President of the University, sent warm congratulations to the new graduates: “On behalf of all faculty and staff, I would like to warmly congratulate the students graduating today and being recognized with a bachelor’s degree. To reach this graduation day, we have gone through unprecedented semesters due to the pandemic. Yet, with solidarity, courage, and a positive spirit in learning and working, we stood together and overcame everything. I heartly congratulate all of you.”

Graduation is one of the most important milestones, marking the process of growth and effort of students. Therefore, the Graduation Ceremony is an event that HCMCOU always focuses on organizing. Ho Chi Minh City Open University has provided thousands of bachelors to society as a source of high-quality intellectual labor, contributing significantly to the country’s development.

In the emotional moment of holding the degree, Le Quang Dinh, a new graduate of the Rouen Joint Program, shared: “Looking back on the journey, our class would like to thank the teachers who have always been dedicated and tried their best to create favorable conditions for us to learn useful knowledge and participate in meaningful extracurricular activities. We wish you happiness, confidence, and success in your career of nurturing people…”

About the Joint Program: Rouen University (France) and HCMCOU

The Professional Bachelor of International Trade training program is highly regarded in France and Europe as it aims for employment goals and good integration in the current competitive and globalized economy.

Training Model: Students study for three years in Vietnam to receive an internationally standardized degree issued by Rouen Normandie University.
Student Exchange: Students from France and other countries come to Vietnam to study their third year at Ho Chi Minh City Open University.
Program Structure: 40% of the teaching volume is delivered by practical managers and international lecturers; 60% consists of practical subjects experiencing business or community projects.
Language and Skills: Students study entirely in English. Additionally, Vietnamese students will learn French, and French students will learn Vietnamese, while having the opportunity to interact and study with international peers.
Financial Support: The program offers reasonable tuition fees and supports many scholarships for students with excellent achievements.

Since its inception, the program has grown steadily and trained nearly 150 students in International Trade across 4 graduating cohorts. Graduates possess not only high professional competence but also excellent language proficiency and soft skills to meet international integration requirements.

Currently, the program attracts many international students from advanced countries such as France, Turkey, etc. After graduation, over 90% of students have found professional positions at large companies both in Vietnam and in developed countries, such as Bollore Group, Lotte, etc.
